Hi all; did some searching (a lot) but I wasn't able to determine if my concern really has an answer, so I'm posting in hopes I can get some input?
I recently bought a CZ455 Varmint Tacticool as a trainer and had it out to the range this past holiday weekend for the first time.
Everything went well, but I had one oddity; I could not cycle unfired rounds. The round would be trapped in the breech unless I fired it; once I did, it would extract and eject perfectly. But any attempt to extract it prior to firing would be in vain. I tested it just a little bit ago again at my workbench, and I just could not get the bolt to pull the round out of the breech. It took some finessing with a dental pick to get the unfired round to slide out. (does the round normally enter the throat so quickly and get wedged in on these barrels?)
When I searched through on extraction issues, all I found was the mods to correct the poor 'flat' angle of the extractor hook. But what struck me as odd, was that my bolt face area has what appears to be two 'holder' hooks, instead of a holder plus a sharp pointed extractor. Is this normal? Did my rifle get put together on a Friday afternoon where someone grabbed two of the same part instead of one of each type of hook? Wondering if CZ changed something in their production line along the way?
Thanks in advance for any input you may have.
