I want to practice with rimfire to hone some skills and give myself repetition with feedback that dry firing will not accomplish.
What essential mods do I need to make to a basic CZ 455 to accomplish this goal. I don't need fancy new barrels or blueprinted action, just basic stuff like perhaps bedding, trigger work or replace, making stock fit etc. Also, what is a good bargain priced scope for 100 yard rimfire practice

Trigger spring from Ace for about 30 cents. Scope, can't beat the Mueller 8-32x44 for a budget build. I have one for sale if you are interested. PM me.

I have several cz 455s and mine are topped off with Primary Arms 4-14x 44mm FFP, I use Area 419 base with 30 MOA, and 30mm Seekins Precision rings. I find the factory trigger to be acceptable with a lighter spring installed and adjusted all the way out, and some stone work. Two of mine have 16.5” factory barrels and one has a 20” factory barrel. All of them wear suppressors when I shoot. One of them is in a Manners T4 stock, the other two are in a Boyd’s laminate stock. With this type of set up I can easily get sub MOA groups with Eley Tenex, and I can dial out to 350 yards and down to 25 yards without needing to use the reticle for holdovers. I have a Vudoo V-22 that’s already shipped to my FFL so I may put the CZs in the safe for a bit, but they are great trainers for the money ! I use them for teaching a fundamentals of precision rifle class here occasionally, that’s why I have the same optics on them all.

I just ordered a CZ 455 Varmint Tacticool Supressor Ready 16.5" 22lr, YoDave trigger kit, 2 spare 10rd mags, Area 419 30moa base and Im debating on what scope. Right now its between a Vortex PST Gen2 5-25 or the new Athlon Ares ETR 4.5-30 FFP MIL with the APRS1 reticle. Since these are pre-order only and due to dealers any time now dont have much info on them so Im hesitant. Really love the .03 floating center dot on this reticle though. I may just get another Gen2 Razor HD 4.5-27 or Athlon Cronus BTR. IDK....hahaha

Got my CZ 455 Varmint Tacticool from www.defuns.net which had the best price of $464.99 shipped to my FFL. If you buy $450 worth of shit from them you can use coupon code CASH30 for free shipping on orders of $450 or more. They dont have any spare mags in stock and could find anything else I wanted on the spot so just paid the $30 shipping. Gun is $434.99...

Other than the trigger work and Area419 base I will run a dollar bill under the barrel to make sure its fully free floating and if not sand it out a little. Other than that just gonna shoot it and order a XLR Evolution chassis for it and a Lilja barrel. It will sport a Rugged Oculus 22 can.

out of the box a 455 along with most other rimfires in this price range will do 1/2”-1” at 50 yards with the occasional example doing better. If that accuracy is ok with you, your good to go! Even when you start modifying them it takes more then just slapping a barrel on one to shoot tiny groups. I can say with confidence that anyone that slaps a barrel on one and shoots it 90% of the time will be disappointed. The other 10% get lucky :). It takes proper bedding, action work, bolt work, custom fitting a barrel (no drop in stuff), trigger work, sear work etc to get them to do .2’s or better.

Good info. Thanks

What are you CZ guys using for upgraded bolt handle/knob. Looking for something that mimics my TL3's with a helical diamond bolt knob but dont want to have any issues of this hitting my optic.

I have so far found the Glades Armory and Anarchy Outdoors Tactical Swept bolt handle From what Im reading some guys are having issues with the bolt flying out on the back stroke using the Glades Armory??? The Anarchy Outdoors says it does not hit your scope with low rings when using a Area419 scope base which I ordered so thats good news.

I cant find what threads the Anarchy handle uses so not sure what bolt knobs can be used with it.

Any input or first hand experience would be great.

I love my 455. It's accurate enough to justify practicing my fundamentals on the cheap. I've become a better shooter because of my 455. I have it in factory condition, no mods yet.

If you decide to do any trigger modifications, please note: Do not, repeat DO NOT remove the forward trigger retaining pin. The only reason it ever has to come out is if you replace the entire sear.

Please don't ask how this was discovered, just trust me. Where the hell did that little ball go this time....

Thank you for that. I am the guy trying to find the Rem 700 bolt release spring on my floor. I keep a handful on hand just in case.
