I currently have a 457 Pro Varmint, and can get a MPA chassis at a decent price.. far less than the msrp.. I like the rifle stock look better as opposed to a chassis, and you can't go wrong with a Manners stock.. Please help !!! I need a winter project !!

MPA chassis is the most popular and allows for a great deal of customization. Manners stock does not. If you were to take a shooting fundamentals class, or do a lot of competitive shooting where you might want to raise/lower cheek, or adjust the buttpad from Prone to Offhand shooting in the middle of a CoF, MPA would be the winner.

If you like the looks of Manners, which looks great... then that's that. :) If you were trying to find something light to walk around the fields and kill squirrels, then Manners would also fit the bill. I wouldn't buy a competition chassis, and haul that extra 3-4 lbs of weight unless I meant to do some competitions.

I have a KRG Bravo right now in my setup for my Tikka. It's a great all around stock, light enough to carry it, stable enough for multitude of shooting, but I am looking to buy something like the MPA or MDT for more customization for competition shooting.

I've put both my V-22 bbl'd actions into Manners PRS1T stocks, and couldn't be happier - but then, I'm not an admirer of chassis in the first place, and in the 2nd place, both the Manners stocks have adjustable cheekpieces. I believe that if you go with a low profile 25 MOA scope rail from BScar, and mount a scope in low rings, you'll find it won't take much - if any - in the way of a riser bag to get your head up to align with the scope. That's what I used on my 457 American & MTR, and with a Midas TAC on the American in TPS TSR low rings, and a Cronus on the MTR with low rings from the same company, I'm in good shape and don't need a stock pack or riser for either rifle. I've never put the cheek piece as low as it'll go on either of my PRS1T stocks to see how comb height compares to that of the MTR's stock, but think it's probably just a tad lower than the walnut stock's comb. So you might wind up needing a stock pack - but if it were me, I'd still prefer the Manners stock to a chassis.

Maybe KRG will come out with a 457 model soon ??? I do like those chassis's also, and have heard nothing but good things about them..The MPA chassis comes in at 2.7 pounds..which I don't think is all that heavy ?? I do like the adjustability you have with a chassis set up.. no hunting for me, just competitions and fun range gun.. The chassis that is available is in gunmetal and looks like the one in the photo I have attached..

Oh I didin't realize their CZ chassis was that light... their BA chassis is 5.2 lbs. Ah looking at it closer, the CZ chassis is their Hybrid chassis, which is normally around 3.5 lbs. I guess it is pretty light.

If you can get a good deal on it, that'd be a really nice setup. I run Tikkas (Centerfire/Rimfire) and there's no MPA for the T1X :(

If you pass on that 457 chassis please shoot me a msg as to where to get a hold of it

Thanks

I didn't think KRG had released 457 bravos yet, am I wrong?

I think you will be pleased with the MPA chassis. I recently bought one of their MPA BA22 built on a CZ 455. It is pretty light and easy to adjust. The RAT rail set up is pretty cool too. All types of options with easy on/off.

I think I'll very pleased... I'm looking forward to setting it up with an Atlas bipod, and a Bartlein barrel

Before you replace your barrel, check to see if you won the CZ barrel lottery. Might have a shooter w/o paying extra for the barrel.

And on the bipod, get a NC version, and buy the RRS BTC-Pro so you can clamp arca or picatinny. Black Friday around the corner, might get 15-20% off from different retailers.

My rifle shoots pretty well now.. Nothing spectacular, .500" or a bit under @ 50.. haven't shot all that much at 100 yet.. I will be waiting before I get the Bartlein.. I'm hoping the chassis helps with accuracy.. I'll check out the bipod stuff too.. Thanks !

Also rimfire's are finicky, so buy 2 boxes of every type and see what it likes .... I just went through

Eley Target
Eley Club
Eley Contact
Eley Match
Eley Tenex

SK +
SK RM
SK LRM
Lapua Center-X.

My rifle hated Eley, and liked SK ammo, but RM did not go well. Center-X was solid.

Just ordered a few boxes of Biathlon Sport, Flat Nose Match, Pistol Match Special, and Lapua Pistol King to see..

If you’re still looking. Maybe look to find a MTR stock.

Just picked up a MTR 457 and I am really liking the stock. Just the OEM barrel is too long so I dropped my short barrel on it.

Stock has pillar bedding too. Still might glass bed it.

Going to get out and see how it shoots.
