CZ 527 American - Good Value?

Re: CZ 527 American - Good Value?

I used to have a CZ 527 Varmint, essentially, the same rifle with a heavier barrel. Mine was chambered in .204 Ruger. It shot sub-MOA consistently (often breaking 1/2) with Hornady ammo. My handloads shot quite a bit better than factory. I shot the hell out of the rifle til the barrel was burned out, then traded it for a Rem 700 VLS.

Only dislikes I had was it was difficult to single feed with a magazine inserted, but you can get a follower for that. I also disliked the detachable magazine hanging down in the way when shooting off big sand bags. It also hunt on lots of things in the truck. I ended up having the bottom metal trimmed to where it was flush and low profile and had one magazine cut down to fit flush with the bottom metal, retaining some full-capacity magazines for the times I needed them.

I loved the little rifle, but didn't have time/money for a rebarrel before a hunting trip. I wish I still had it. Buy with confidence on the CZ 527s.

I have had them. I love that action, and the triggers are great. my 223 all like 50vmax Hornady loads. The only down side to them is the way the bolt handle sits. makes you use a med ring or taller, good if you are planing on putting a larger bell scope on it not so great if you wanted a smaller lighter scope.

if the right deal came along I would buy another with out worry
