I'm setting up my CZ 452 Varmint with the new Nikon Prostaff 3-9 X 40 EFR Target Scope. My dilema is whether to use the CZ 11 mm dovetail rings (Bud's has them for $56) or go with an EGW or DIP picatinny rail that fits the 11 mm dovetail.

I am leaning toward the EGW extended picatinny rail and it is available with 0 MOA or 20 MOA. What are the pros and cons of a 20 MOA base on a 22 LR? I am not sure how much adjustment the scope has.

If you plan to shoot long range (>200 yards) the 20 MOA would be a help. The scope has 80 MOA of adjustment. Just make sure the rings you get are tall enough, the bolt handle will hit the ocular housing.

the 1 piece rails (especially the moa sloped ones,) come in handy for several reasons:
a) adding the option in the first place offers the longer range advantage with optics later if so desired
b) offers the ability to add rail mounted ACIs, cosine indicators, etc. to best match up with their centerfires for training
c) offers more height for larger objective scopes without having to purchase more rings
d) offers more options for eye relief and spacing between rings to allow for a more custom / comfortable fit
e) they are usually made of better quality than the cheap assed bases that come with your average rimfire, allows use of weaver / pic rings rather than the the dovetails that many rings tend to slip with.
