Interested in going to a local range and trying some uspsa comps. Never really shot in a competition setting before besides prs 22. I have a shadow 2 sao (cut for sro) and was told I could shoot carry optics but didn’t see it on the list. Got it for a range toy but if I could shoot a comp or two with it I’d be happy. Was wondering if anyone shoots one and it what divisions, thanks.

I don't think you can run SAO in carry optics. You can in the new limited optics though. The Shadow 2 is an incredible piece of equipment. They are ultra reliable and extremely accurate. They are a great package for the price.
^he’s correct. Carry Optics division requires traditional DA/SA or striker fired pistols. SAO guns not allowed in CO. However on May 1 USPSA is releasing a provisional division called Limited Optics which is patterned off Limited division in that guns can be DA/SA, striker fired, or SAO.
I shoot a DA/SA Shadow 2 w/ SRO in Carry Optics.
You can shoot Carry Optics in IDPA with a SAO pistol. Division capacity is only 10+1 though. You can run a magwell as well.
USPSA Carry Optics require at least the first shot to be DA. No add on magwells either.
