So I bought this thing for my wife to shoot with while her rifle is being finished at Crescent Customs.

What would be your suggestions do you experienced CZ455 owners have?

    Thanks

I think it going to stick a diamond back tactical FFP on it. Im going to leave the stock alone other than possibly bedding it. What triggers are you guys running? I saw on eBay there are some bedding "kits" but it is eBay and question the quality.

Cz flyweight, the timney gave me issues and i didn't feel like messing with it. Diamond back is supposed to be a good deal

You don't need to spend $100+ for a trigger. Get the Yodave kit for about $18 shipped. The $9 shipping isn't Yodave's fault, it's US-Canada customs. I ordered 3 for same shipping cost and immediately sold two of them, mitigating that expense.

And yes, you will likely have issues with the bolt coming out unexpectedly. I found that I could mitigate this issue by cycling the bolt (didn't need to dry-fire, just cycle) several times when I reinserted it after cleaning or whatever.

@padom 's review cited above is very good. I'm also running a 455 in an MDT LSS-22 chassis but I have not added all the other optimal bits he has. Find the right ammo, and keep the right torque on the screws in the Boyd stock, and Tacticools punch above their weight (cost).

What to do all depends on what you want in the end. How far you want to shoot, what kind of accuracy your looking to achieve, what style shooting you will do etc. No matter what it is your looking to achieve, just make sure the path you take is guaranteed to get you there. If it isn’t, then don’t bother :).

200 yards max. Mainly shooting steel and paper targets. I may use it to take care of small critters around our property. Would love 1/2 MOA out of it but that might be asking a lot.

I'm not opposed to changing out the stock to a chassis if it will increase the accuracy. Trigger will have to be addressed. I do not plan on pulling the barrel unless it is absolutely necessary and at that point I would probably punt as I don't plan on using it much after her rifle is finished.

Getting the rifle to 1/4” at 50 yards will take work. Chances are the factory barrel ain’t gonna do it, at least with consistency which is what matters. It will take bedding, a custom fitted barrel, bolt/ignition work, and action work done correctly to get it to that level. This goes for any rimfire. What is she currently having built?

22" 6CM. It won't be delivered for a few more months at best. I'm just trying to get her out to the range with something that won't have her frustrated, but also something that presents a challenge. I figured a decent 22 that was some what capable would get her started.

Get the thing to the range and see how it does. Most sporting rimfires will do 1/2”-1” at 50 yards consistently with the higher end offerings doing 1/2” or better. See what your working with and then go from there. If it’s just a rifle for temporary use, I’d just let her shoot it the way it is just to get the trigger time in.
