Daniel Defense rail proble***Pics Up***

I just installed the DD Lite Rail 12.0 on my DPMS LR-308 and there is a slight problem. When you look at the front of the handguard it looks to be off centered. One side is .285 away from the barrel, while the other side is .205. Has anyone ever had any problems like this? If so how did you fix it.

mm...not saying anything about your skills but did you double check the barrel nut? the adapter for the rail has to be installed a certain way. got any pics?

Just curious, if you put a long metal straight edge along side both sides of the receiver and the DD rail, does the DD rail appear to be lined up straight with the receiver, or is that alignment off to one side as well?

I don't have calipers here but i did use a flathead screw bit and tried to measure it, and it's not perfect but definitely not .080 off. I'd say maybe .010-.015?

When I mounted the rail, I had my eotech to line it up, one tab would be on the rail of the upper and one on the DD rail to help line it up. Also the American Flag logo on the rail should face the right side (looking from breech end). The bolt up plate must be facing a certain way, I forgot which way though. IIRC I think the cupped end faces away from the receiver so the barrel nut can thread inside the plate. I just remember that it'll have tons of play after the barrel nut is tight.

I measured my Lite 12" rail and got .452 on one side and .483 on the other. I used my scope mount to align the rail.
