Most of the evacuated Americans are Afghanis naturalized in the past decade or so, at least from what we are seeing from these evacuees in Europe vast majority (90+%) of these 'citizens' are Afghanis and were in Afghanistan on holidays and visiting family. It was also clear they were warned to evacuate months ago but didn't think things would go tits up with such speed. Once things went tits up you can bet many of extended family members ended up on the planes.

It will be interesting to follow the debates on immigration like it was the case with the Syrian & Iraqi refugees that got political asylum then vacationed in Iraq and or Syria multiple times.

Thankfully for you a whole host of yes man countries are at least temporarily taking most of these -> Albania,Kosovo , Macedonia. So you are not likely to gain extra 100k new Afghans to naturalize.

Albania in particular has become somewhat of a favorite dump for washed-out Jihadis from various ME adventures. One of the three letter agencies relocated the whole MEK terror group out of Iraq ,to Albania where they now live in walled of compounds and three-letter agencies still think they might one day use them in Iran.

I always wonder why these folks do not get relocated to Gulf monarchies as these fund and play a central role in so many of these wars .

Second thing is how are Taliban chances of relocating to US? From my perspective, every man whose woman is wearing a burqa ,niqab,chador... is Taliban in heart and mind even if he was never affiliated with them . I from what i can see there are bunch of women on those planes in burqa and likes....
