Dasher widden die seating stem

New to loading dasher. Just had a rifle built and was starting to work up a load. Noticed the bullets was sticking in the seating stem on the widden seater. Seating 109 hybrids. I’ve been reading and understand it’s a somewhat common issue. I realize widden makes custom stems. Problem is I don’t have the time to wait on one. I seen where people say to use 600 grit sandpaper or lapping compound to polish it to fix the issue. Any personal experience or advice would be greatly appreciated

I've had redding seating stems have burrs and stuff. Easiest way I've found is to chuck up a bullet in a drill, put some valve lapping compound down in the stem, and give it a whirl, clean out the stem and see if you're still having sticking problems. Repeat until it's slickered up. You're likely going to burn up a hand full of bullets, so be ready or that. Also, make sure you're not bottoming out the meplat in the stem because all of the above will be a wasted exercise if you are.

I’ll give that a try. This is my first set of widdens, normally run Redding’s but they were all on back order. I’m assuming your talking about the metal sleeve that is spring operated? It’s only moving 1/8 or so like the instructions say when it comes into contact with shell plate
