Fieldcraft Day/Night rangecard and routecard experiment

Re: Day/Night rangecard and routecard experiment

I've done something similar on the inside of my data book to jot down some dope and maybe make a hasty field sketch. I just have a couple of small sections of cat eye tape though so it was more or less just a proof of concept for me. For someone operational it certainly has merit as similar techniques have been used with tactical armboards to keep call signs, TRP's, and freq's handy.

I think it's amusing how many good ideas and techniques I've stumbled upon after I got out of the military.

This has been being used for some time. You can find 4x6" lume pages, or even larger so you dont need to tape the strips together.

They can be useful during night movements and also during airborne operations when noise can prevent leaders from communicating with their team members. Wax pencils also work well and are easily wiped away.

Write a note on it, pass it down the line. Everyone gets the message even in low light and high noise situations.
