At least nine people are dead and more than a dozen wounded after someone opened fire in downtown Dayton, Ohio, according to police.

The suspected shooter was also shot and killed.

Police responded to the shooting at 1:22 a.m., police said.

Miami Valley Hospital spokesperson Terrea Little told ABC News that they have received 16 victims from the shooting in the Oregon District. She did not provide further information on their injuries. Dayton police confirmed that "at least" 16 people were injured in area hospitals.
