Late May until August. I heard about Quantico, but I'll need to go with a member (hopefully some of you guys).

I wasn't planning on bringing too many rifles until I realized there are a ton of 'Hide members out there and so now I'm planning on bringing a few and hopefully doing some long range shooting out there.

Oh, sweet. I thought their rules required that you had to be accompanied by a member. Awesome!

From their website:

Can I use the ranges if I am not a member?
You must be a member to use the ranges at Quantico. Membership is divided into Regular (Active, Reserve and Retired Military and DoD employees) and Associate (Civilian). Membership fees for Regular members are based on pay grade. Membership applications can be found on the Membership page of our website. They can be mailed in with payment or brought to the clubhouse. For a nominal fee, guests of members may enjoy shooting. However, they must at all times be accompanied by a member.

Decent range with friendly folk, only been there once however be prepared as they require that you chrono your rifle on site, have your dope caluculated in MOA, they don't accept mils, and you have to shoot a sub 1 MOA group before they allow you on any of the ranges that are past 100 yards. They then take the serial number of the rifle you're going to be using on that range. I'm hoping they change the serial number requirement in the future, but until they do I'll only be sticking to the 100 yard range.

And the trigger cannot be under 1.5 lbs.

Plus membership is about $400 or so a year.

Re: DC area/NoVA people

Still, those are easy requirements and it will weed out people who don't know how to drive their rifle. I like fewer people at the range when I go. I'm going to give them a try in August and see if that range is worth the drive and cash.

Re: DC area/NoVA people

I am 23 miles from them, and might make s drive out there tomorrow or friday just to look around. any one know how much it is to shoot for just a couple hours there? Im not sure i want ot drop 400 a year to shoot... My current club is only 50 a year.

I don't see how having drop in moa as opposed to mils would help with this :-/ Or a serial number being recorded.

So screw it, let's not shoot there. Who wants to shoot elsewhere? I'm down for shooting every single weekend I'm there. My girlfriend approves, too, she just doesn't know it yet.
