Got scope put on my DD5v5 Mil Spec plus in 6.5. Put A Leupold Mark 5hd 7-35 for the optic. Atlas Bipod. I've not had the weather to shoot her but am dying to get to the range. I know the bipod needs to be further forward but the gas block won't let it go any further. Does anyone know of an extension that could get the bipod out past the hand gaurd? Regardless really pumped about this rifle.

Why do you think the bipod needs to get ~1 1/2” farther forward? It’s rhetorical, your bipod position is fine. I’d be more concerned with positioning the bipod where I can reach it to make adjustments without having to come out of position.
Man honestly never thought of it that way. Now I'm thinking of it makes a Hell ofvalot more sense to have bipod within reach and not having to reposition every time I need to adjust it. Thanks for the solid real world Knowledge!!!
Thing is the arca rail has to attach to the mlock slots and the gas block won't allow the mounting screws to hold it on. But I will see if they make one that attaches to the very front ahead of the gas block
Mlok, sucks. Key mod was a way better system. You will have to grind/file the screw down to shorten it.
Full length Arca rail and you can run your bipod from your magwell past your handguard and anywhere in between…
I’m no expert on setting up a precision rifle but I would imagine that having the bipod further forward would be extremely beneficial since you’re placing a rifle pivot point as far as you can from the thing moving the rifle. I’d think that would aid in stability. However, to the op, my dd5 has an atlas bipod and it’s all the way forward. I’d double check that the gas block is your issue. Also, with my bipod forward I can reach the legs and adjust them without hassle.

On a side note, I have a question for my fellow hide members. I have a dd5v3 308, dd5v4 308 and dd5v5 6.5 creedmoor and I have been happy with all threes accuracy and reliability suppressed and unsuppressed. It seems like the daniel defense dd5 doesn't get much love vs other ar10's , why so ?
My only gripe with mine is their proprietary barrel. I can’t replace my barrel with any standard ar10 barrel. I’m limited to my factory 18” barrel unless I wanna spend a lot of money on either a full upper with a 20” barrel or a super expensive proof carbon barrel. Other than that, it’s a great rifle.
Echo on above comment. I have a DD5V4 Hunter in 6.5 CM. Love the rifle. Extremely accurate suppressed and non suppressed. And you’re right, not a lot of love
I’m just making a guess here but I think DD gets some hate is because of questioning a couple years ago where the ceo said that he supports the atf.
