Deal price on b14r heavy barreled action

$609.00 WoW.... My old Gen 1 steel brl. was more accurate than my Vudoo. My only complaint with the
old B14R is the FCG. There is no reasonable way to work on it. A CZ457 on the other hand is child's-play.
See trigger sear attached. The 457 sear is so large that it is free standing and virtually self leveling.
How long is this fatty barrel? JFricke....your killing me!!

It’s a 20” barrel. At this price a whole new trigger isn’t a real deal breaker

I need to remind myself that I will also need an MDT LSS Gen 2, at minimum, grip, weights, rubber chassis
dampers, Bix &Andy TAC Sport trigger and at least 6 mags. I attached a CZ457 trigger sear that didn't attach
to the prior post. I have had three 457's but I don't want to use that planform for a build. I want a Remington
700 planform due to the myriad of available parts.

I truly don't understand why Bergara doesn't spend a few more dollars to refine their trigger.
Even If you get inside of it like I have, the sear surfaces are not sharp, crisp and smooth. The breaking edges
have small radii on them from the MIM process. There is virtually no chance to refine or alter the factory trigger.
So, throwing it in the trash is the only viable option if you're a trigger snob like me.

It is now $640. Still an amazing deal. I own one of these that produces some amazing groups. If I was not drowning in precision 22s, I would buy 1 or 2 just to have them.

"I hate pricing games.
Wonder if Bergara is gonna release an even longer barrel?"

That was my thought exactly at the time of my purchase last week. I could have bought for less, but have had it for over a week now. But yes, I hate pricing games!

Seems like every time I finally buy something, a week or so later the cost goes down or there is a next gen with more features for the same cost. My buddy and I said that Bergara will now come out with a 25" truck axle barrel since I finally bought the 20" HB.

I bought my 18" like a week before A&J announced the 20" heavy barrel. Since I just bought the 20", I'm sure that 25" truck axle will be here any day now.:ROFLMAO:

I'm not sure that the $641.00 floating price bothers me a lot. But I am sure that I dislike removing the bolt
knob and trigger because I have no use for them, and they represent wasted $$. Like you, I would like a
longer barrel as well. I always look at the big picture and see how my new toy will look in its chassis.
My gun needs to look visually balanced and having a barrel flush to the chassis doesn't work for me.
In an MDT ACC, a 26" barrel like the one below would be a nice look to my eye. It would stick out of the
chassis a decent amount. I'm especially fond of the muzzle swell.
It's difficult for me to be concerned about $50.00 either way on a rifle cost. Why? Burning through hundreds
of rounds of Center X during a sitting gets pricy. Even SK Rifle Match is .25 cents a shot!
