Maybe! It’s a proof prefit. I thought it was maybe a brass issue until I looked closer at my large rifle primer cased once fired and it’s on there too. Just not as noticeable as it is with small rifle brassYou think they missed centering the chamber by .030
Edit: But anything is possible.
After whatsupdoc said, I bet it is a barrel “issue”. It’s proof prefit, and I probably got a barrel that was chambered on a Friday afternoonHow do you know it is the action causing the off center strike?
I just started some load development but it’s showing promise! One of my best shooting hunting rifles, full TS customs build had the off center primer strikes. Shot ragged holes.
Keep Shooting it.
I shot that one today doing load development. I did have a hangfire with the SRPs but don’t know 100% if that’s related to it being off centerSo you shot that group at 200 yards and are asking if it's affecting accuracy?
I mean it’s over a $4,000 rifle build minus optic. Every other gun I’ve ever owned has hit primers dead center from the most to least expensive. As long as it doesnt effect anything I don’t care. Just want an accurate/ dependable tool. The hangfire I had is a little unnerving but I can’t 100% say it’s directly related to the off center primer strikesThe unbelievably dumb shit people focus on...............
SMFH
Has nothing to do with off center strikes. My r700 routinely strikes the primer off-center and stacks rounds and functions flawlessly. Hang fires can be either ammo (bad primer, powder) or worn/dirty firing pin and/or spring, among other things.I mean it’s over a $4,000 rifle build minus optic. With factory and brand new alpha brass reloadsHas nothing to do with off center strikes. My r700 routinely strikes the primer off-center and stacks rounds and functions flawlessly. Hang fires can be either ammo (bad primer, powder) or worn/dirty firing pin and/or spring, among other things.
Is your pin off-center on just these reloads or all ammo including factory stuff?
That makes sense too. I bet quality control has gone down with such a large demandYour picture on post 1 looks good. If the cartridge doesn't go bang it's a bad primer
Assuming the rifle performs well and you don’t have any more hang fires, I wouldn’t worry about it.With factory and brand new alpha brass reloads

I bet your probably right. I just never noticed until nowI don't believe that.
