Rifle Scopes Demo NF

Hey Everyone,
Quick question on a ATACR 7x35 SFP Mil C reticle scope. I bought a demo and I am not sure if it is working correctly. I own a NX8 mil Xt so not sure if it should be the same or not.
1)Ok the power lever on the magnification when activated ALSO rotates the eye piece! I tried unlocking a relocking the focus ring but no change . My NX8 does not do this. So is this something wrong?
2) what is suppose to illuminate on the Mil C? in my mil xt the "T" illuminates....on this Mil C sometimes i see a dot in the center (like a leupold firedot) and sometimes nothing. I can see light around the perimeter of the view (like a shadow) . Does this sound correct ?

So what you think ? was this demo a dud?

The whole eye piece rotates when you adjust magnification on the ATACRs

Thanks....I just confirmed that with NF as well. This is only my second NF scope (own all Leupolds up to now) and my first was NF was the NX8 which does remain stationary.
I also confirmed that the Mil C SFP does only illuminate the center dot...hmmm a bit disappointing but then again i am not really sure i will use the illumination feature for this ELR only rifle
