Re: Desert Tactical Arms SRS 338 LM
cc987 drilled a nice black bear and took out both longs and the heart with the 338LM using 300 SMK's, the exit wound was so large you could put your fist in it without your hand touching the sides. My brother also took a nice Cinnamon black bear with his SRS338 with similar results with 250 grain Scenars. It was a great hunt, made some new friends and saw some HUGE brown bears running around, but as fate would have it we didn't ever connect on one. Big thanks to Jim West at Wild West Guns in Alaska for having us up there!!
Practice targets were set up at 1165 yards, 750 yards, and 425 yards. The target at 1165 yards was a piece of cardboard 2.5 ft wide by x 3 ft tall and all shooters on all three guns pictured above made cold bore shots on the 1165 yard target, each shooter fired two rounds, a cold/clean bore shot, and a followup round all shooters hit both times and a couple bystanders wanted in and also hit the cardboard target.
