Re: Desperately need some help!!!
You lose some velocity with the 14.5" barrel, but the accuracy is there and you should be able to reach 600-800yds without too much difficulty with the right ammo. Actually, if you run the lighter, 155gr Scenars, you can make up some of the velocity lost on the heavier 168gr and 175gr loads and it is an excellent bullet for extended range shooting.
NOW...with that said, the Noveske 18" rifle is a real shooter and the additional barrel length over your 14.5" will give you more than 800yd capability if you need it. The Noveske rifles are easily sub-MOA and most I have seen are capable of sub-3/4MOA. They are reliable, accurate and proven rifles.
It really comes down to what platform you prefer. The biggest differences between the two are:
1) the barrel length (obviously);
2) DI vs. Piston operating system; and
3) Noveske uses Armalite mags while the POF uses KAC/DPMS/Magpul mags.
While I love my POF rifles, an even trade from your lightly used POF 14.5" to a NIB Noveske N6 18" rifle is a win-win for you. $2.5k used rifle vs. $3.1k new rifle (with a LONG wait time to find a NIB Noveske N6). The N6 18" is truly a "do-it-all" setup that you can use for comps, hunting, punching paper, etc.
