I'm sure this has been beaten to death before. I have always had trouble with this and always mess up. I always hold for wind because it seams that I can't dial right. I would like to use a situation from this weekend, using a razor gen two I was holding for .5mil of wind on the first hash to left. So with the wind blowing from right to left would I need to dial my scope to L.5 or R.5. I feel like it's L .5 because I hold to the left but also R.5 because it's a right wind. Which Is correct?

You were NOT holding to the left, you were holding to the right. Your Zero is where the crosshairs intersect, and that was to the right. You would dial R 0.5 to accomplish the same thing and use your Zero. Always dial INTO the wind. Wind from the right, dial right. Wind from the left, dial left.

That's not always the case. I have a Steiner Military 4-16 where the elevation turret is CW. The windage is even the opposite direction. Push right, pull left. Never assume they're all the same.

Direction and Distance from the Main Crosshair

So, you held, "Right .5 Mils" that tells you the main crosshair goes right, the distance .5 mils super easy.

If you dial it's exactly the same, you want the main crosshair into the wind, right, distance .5
