I just purchased a DB10 in 6.5 Creed to use as a general all around plinker and thermal hog gun. I am not really all that concerned about an ultra accurate rifle, MOA plus or minus is just fine with me. What I would like is something that feeds reliably however, with minimal issues. I will be shooting suppressed via a TBAC Ultra 7. Wondering if I need to purchase an adjustable gas block, or if folks have had good luck running similar platforms without. I realize this gun isn't a "gucci" type setup, and I have done the usual google fu to see enough opinions on the platform either way.

I guess I am looking for a few opinions from folks who have gone a similar route and maybe had to add a couple of aftermarket parts to their gun to make it function better if I need to go that direction. Who knows, maybe it will shoot just fine as is.

I have a diamond back grendel. I love it. I've hunted deer and hog with it. Plenty Accurate and plenty of power. I did change a few things such as putting in a 2 stage gissele trigger with a 4 lb pull, changed the furniture on it, added good vortex optic, enhanced firing pin, bigger charging handle and magpul bipod. Also had it cerakoted tiger stripe.

I never understood the hate on guns that are around the 1k ball park. I go shoot with guys who have 2500 dollar rifles and shoot on flat ranges. The dB shoots just fine beside those. I've spent money on those types of rifles and honestly I'm not sure why. Now I just build what I want and plenty happy. I would venture to say that you have probably had zero problems with your rifle thus far.

How much do you want to spend? Unlimited budget - get an adjustable gas block, assorted buffers in heavier weights (or lighter), and a spring kit in various strengths. Mess around with gassing, buffer and spring weights to tune to be reliable and have the best recoil impulse feel to you.

Don't want to deal with all that? Get heavier buffers (due to the suppressor, 99% likely you'll need a heavier one). You may need to purchase several to figure out which one is optimal for use with/without suppressor and for potential cold weather below 32*F temps. Spend the remainder money on quality magazines.

I still have the rifle. I ended up putting an SLR adjustable gas block on it (shoot suppressed), some different takedown pins, (sloppy fit between upper and lower) and a JP Silent Captured spring. Rifle shoots and functions just fine. I have mainly been shooting 140 grain soft points out of it just for hogs and plinking, but I have a few Berger Hybrids loaded up to see how well they do at distance.

Overall, the rifle does fine, but there is a difference between it and my higher end rifles. 2k difference? Depends on how I am feeling that day.
