I recently purchased a 300 Win Mag and would like to push it 1000 and beyond. Until now my die arsenal has been all RCBS and Hornady dies but would like something more suited to the precision reloading task. This will not be a strictly bench rifle so I think I would prefer to bump shoulders instead of neck sizing.

What would you recommend for a precision seater die?

What sizing die would you recommend?

Thanks

WOA used to sell a Redding Type S sizing die with two Forster micrometer seating dies as a "National Match" set. A seater each for short line and 600 yds, respectively. They also claimed that they used this setup for NM AR.

Reddings have been my choice for die sets for more than 40 years. I use their competition micrometer seating dies for a few chamberings and my results are such that I'm not tempted to try new stuff. You know the old saying if it ain't broke...

I’ve been a broken record on this lately, but couldn’t be happier with Hornady match dies. Great quality, good design. Redding has been underwhelming me for a few years now, and the cost is ridiculous. The only thing they have going for them is they have a huge cartridge menu.

Like Milo said, the whidden’s are very nice. I don’t have any of their seaters, just a few FL sizers. Always had luck with Forster as well.
