Went hunting this week and was about to go target shooting when I noticed a spec in my scope. I came off of it and tried to blow it off, tried to wipe it off, and then I noticed it's inside the scope. It rotates w/ the ocular adjustment ring. It seems like it could be getting in at the ocular adjustment ring. Do I contact Bushnell or the retailer? Do they have a different department that handles the HDMR?

Beat me to it! US Optics would tell you that. Dunno about Bushnell

Send it back to bushnell. They will pay to ship it back to them and they will clean it up. I had some debris inside my 6500 and they took care of it in a very timely manner. No questions asked.

that is who told me originally, it works pretty much every time

It happens to a lot of scopes. The phonebook trick works. Scopes usually have grease inside them to trap the debris, which is usually anodizing flaking off inside the main tube.

I called, they are sending me a label said it's about a 4 week turn around. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's much shorter than that. Anyone have to send something into them and know about the turn around?

I just sent a couple scopes in and it took almost 3wks

Wow don't really care for their turn around time on Warranty work...sorry to hear that.

Re: Dirt and other artifacts in my HDMR.

Well, they are sending me the label, but I went ahead and tried the "us optics" trick. It worked, but whatever that is, I can see it at the bottom off of the glass. I think I'll shoot some more before sending it in.

figure a 4-5 days shipping each way so its not that bad. They have also always been very pleasent and answer my questions without any attidude which is nice to.
Of course it would be nice if I didnt have to use the warranty as well
