I have been working up a load for my 6.5 CM using 147 gr. ELD-M bullets, Hornady once fired brass, and Alliant Reloder 26. Spent the hole Summer working up slowly in .1 gr. increments with 5 shot tests at 100 yards. I set up my last test with 5 rounds each at 47.1 gr. - 47.5 gr. (25 rounds total) and then got the opportunity to shoot thru my Nephews LabRadar with 25 rounds of the same old same old with 47 grs of RL 26 and I'm getting sub MOA 100 yard performance and 2850 FPS with an SD of 4.8 and an ES of 12. So I'm done....I have settled on a standard load of 47 gr. of powder.
I'm disassembling the last test set and this is the first time in like 40+ years of hand loading that I have disassembled rounds - I have an RCBS Collet Puller and bought a 6.5 collet and pulled the bullets and dumped the powder back and saved the bullets after close examination. A couple of very light abrasions but the bullets look fine.
Should I resize the necks on the saved brass or should neck tension be OK? They were full length resized/trimmed/neck sized before loading.
Your thoughts please and thank you!
