Discomfort when shooting prone due to stock design?

Hi,
This is my first post in Sniper's Hide. Thanks for taking the time to read it.

First off, I am a new rifle shooter and while I am well read, I lack (a lot) of practical experience. I have been experiencing discomfort when shooting my Kimber LPT chambered in .308 when laying prone.

Here is a link to a picture of the rifle:
Kimber 84M LPT(Light Police Tactical) 308 - Impact Guns

So, when shooting this rifle seated at a bench I have produced excellent groups and experience absolutely zero discomfort, but the second I lay prone the upper corner of the butt pad digs deeply into my shoulder, and the more it annoys me, the worse I shoot.

For what it's worth, I am 6'4" 225lbs and not a recoil sensitive person. 12ga slugs and full recoil buckshot all day are no problem for me.

It seems as if no matte how I position the rifle I cannot get the recoil pad high enough to propperly meet my shoulder. Any suggestions? New stock, more LOP, thicker recoil pad, poor shooting form, professional instruction, quit being a weiner, etc?

Thank you all for your time!

Your discomfort from prone is going to be ongoing with that stock design.
The heal of the rifle is dropped well below the bore line, stock designers have done this in a horrible attempt to direct recoil up instead of straight back in to the shooter.
It does provide the intended function in the upright (standing) position which is replicated at the bench, however for shooting prone you could not design a worse shape.
For prone shooting you need a straight or elevated come and a square heal so the rifle contacts high in the shoulder pocket and recoil is delivered in a straight line to the bore. That stock is not a raised come but actually just a dropped heal. If you plan on using it prone:change stocks or change rifles.
