I have seen a number of hand held range finders and I know Burris makes a scope with a range finder built in it.

Does anyone make a small range finder that would attach to a rail on your rifle so you could easily go back and forth looking through the range finder then your scope?

Yes but they are pretty much restricted to Mil/LEO agencies only. One is called the STORM and the other is the RULR, both from L-3/Insight Technology, the later goes for about $40,000.

Actually Zeiss makes a scope with a LRF inside and it's available for civilian sales. The two problems on the model I saw was it didn't have target turrets and it only had a duplex. (it was a hunting scope). And I can't be sure but I thought Hensoldt had a civilian scope with an LRF but it was crazy expensive.

Don't know of any specific manufacturers who make a built in LRF, but I have heard of a few. Some thoughts on the idea:

The LRF inside the scope means you have to point your rifle at whatever it is your ranging. Sometimes this isn't always a great idea in my neck of the wood, since folks near something I may be ranging don't really like me pointing my rifle at them. Otherwise, I have to detatch the scope to range it.

However, if it was external but mounted near the scope, on a QD mount, that would be great, can detatch the LRF range if you need to, reattach, and do a minor shift to read the range. I like it. Not enough to pay $40K though Makes the PLRF-10 seem cheap by comparison.

Leupold makes a Vendetta for your bow. I don't know what kind of range it has if it is useable for a rifle.
