Third generation shooting supply still has 40 1 pounders still in stock. Since varget is so hard to find i thought i would throw this out there. Im in no connection with them, Just thought i would help some one out.

Well I accidently ordered a few too many when i placed my order from midway. If anyone is an hour or so from Mobile and needs some I have a couple 8 lb jugs I can part with.

They must of got a shipment in again. They show 200 lbs back in stock.

Looks like their inventory tracking is accurate. I checked after I ordered and it went down accordingly.

Why does everyone always keep getting the 1 pounders in stock but not the 8lb? Are the 8lb shipments much more rare?
Buying 1 lb at a time, when you need 16+ lb is not cost productive.

I dont think there is much cost productive right now with everyone bumping the inflated price. Im glad there are still some good wholesalers out there that are not jacking the price up.

I found some at a local wholesale place today but only in 1lb. They are one of the largest distributors in the region and they said that they can't get any 8lb kegs from hodgdon. So I bought a case of 10, 1lb to keep me satisfied even though an 8 pounder is more economical.

I'm assuming they are only pumping out 1lb jugs to take advantage of the bigger profit they make from them....

Midsouth Shooters shows an expected date of re-stock on 8 lb. Varget for 3/1/2013.
It could be that a shit ton of people are back ordering it and it's all sold as a shipment comes in......? I hope that is the case cause I have 16 lbs. on back order.

I can't confirm this yet, but a gunsmith buddy of mine told me that Varget is not even getting made anymore. Why that would be, I don't know and daren't speculate, but that's the word he said he got from Graff. Could it be that that's why it's getting so rare right now?

UPDATE: Just to make <span style="text-decoration: underline">danged</span> sure (which I should have done in the first place), I just called Hodgon and asked them; ryanjay11 is absolutely right that it is pure, pure BS. They're actually making ~twice their normal output right now, but still can't keep up with the increased demand.
Oh--well, thank goodness, then. I was a tad freaked by what he said, as I've been loving the Varget ever since I tried it.

Varget is made by ADI it is AR2208 and it's still being made.

Yes, I e-mailed ADI, they said they are still shipping it on time/as normal to Hodgdon...no worries. As mentioned, not selling their best seller would be completely ridiculous.
Place a BO and you will get it much sooner than you think. I got my shipment of Varget a week ago from Midsouth, ordered on 1/5/2013.

They are a local distributor to me and they are GTG! I can tell you they are INCREDIBLY busy, just like everybody else in this industry.
