Does NV/Thermal Clip-on Need to Be Same Cant as Scope?

Looking at purchasing a chassis that has NV capability for the future, but most seem
to only offer a 0MOA NV bridge option. If my action has a 20MOA cant, will this be a problem? If so, why? If not, why not?

Actions like the AIAX chassis offer different incline option (0MOA or 20MOA), but doesn’t look like many places offer this?
I’m mostly interested in using a thermal clip-on like the Gen 1 Steiner C35. Thanks!

NV is far less susceptible to co-planer issues than thermal. Huge tolerances of offset are generally okay.

If you plan to run collimated thermal, you want to be as close to co-planer as possible. Most people cannot shoot the difference in 1-2 pixels anyways, but it’s a best practice to sit at 1.5” on the same plane.

Digitally collimated thermal doesn’t care about co-planer since it requires zero anyways.This is your C35 example.

Edit to add:

AICS and Cadex are the two best build it yourself options. Otherwise, it's easier to buy a complete system like an AI MRAD or M10. An AR 15 or 10 is one of the most affordable options if you're into gas guns.

It’s not the end of the world if they have a 20moa difference. Your POI correction might be a bit larger but otherwise it will likely be fine.
