i have and love a 3-9x40 green mildot accupoint on my 700 7mm mag hunting rig. but never shot it over 300 yds. i think they pull in light better than any scope ive ever used and to me the glass is really clean. im thinking of getting a 2.5-10x56 or a 5-20x50 and selling my nightforce. i like the nightforce. but the mil-r reticle is a little to busy for me. i would come out at least $1k ahead and i could use the extra money. im leaning to the 2.5-10 because of weight and the guy who taught me to shoot told me never go over 10 power. and once i stopped and did that i began to shoot better. the main problem is elevation. ive heard many say these scopes don't have enough elevation. does a 20moa base help enough to get a .308 out to 1000. thanks to all.
