Holy hell i don't know how i missed this movie. Just saw it for the first time and wow, it's one of the best Mafia/Gangster movies i've seen. IMO it's up there with Casino, The Departed, Godfather, Goodfellas, The Untouchables (though more of a cop movie IMO) and Road to Perdition. Maybe in my top three with Casino my all time favorite and Donnie Brasco a close second. Seems very underrated but i loved this film. Probably my favorite Johnny Depp and Al Pacino performance. I'm not a fan of Scarface at all but i need to see Carlito's way all the way through. Depp i thoroughly enjoyed in Public Enemies but felt Gary Oldman would've been a perfect John Dillenger in all aspects. Not that Depp did a bad job he was great, just felt Oldman would've fit better. Makes you wish Depp wasn't so stereotyped cause the guy can act.
