...its used to being called something bigger. From across the gunshop/range today everybody thought it wasn't a rimfire, until they came up close.

I will add a Primary Arms 3x Deluxe mag (its just a .22) and an appropriate flip to side mount later. The Aimpoint T1 clone just showed up today and I love it. Primary Arms Micro Dot is good to go in my book (again, just a 22). I blew through about 250 rounds today and I fell in love with this rifle all over again with how it performed (in this configuration.) Also, the Red Dot held zero and gave me ZERO issues. No finicky dot projection, etc, etc...

I added KAC rail panels on the 9, 12, and 3 oclock. I dremel'd a few ribs off the top panel and stippled them all. I like them more than the XTM panels. I yanked the mounted Surefire and MBUS Irons off the AR to see if I could mimic the feel on the 522. I also pulled the ACS for this reason and everything felt almost the same. Just for giggles, I pulled the factory birdcage and installed the A2 birdcage to see if there was any difference. I don't think there was very much. A little less weapon rise I think, as it counteracted the momentum of the bolt traveling and associated movement?? Again, not very sure.

I will change the VFG out for a Magpul Handstop kit when it becomes available and sandwich another small, stippled KAC rail panel in between the stops. Also I will get my grubs on a few replacement mags that Black Dog Machine offer now with the new design feed lips, as the 10 rounder and 30 rounder BOTH performed unacceptably today. I have had the issues with the 10, but not the 30. I enjoy this rifle too much to let stupid stuff like that get in the way.

I maintain that I will not trade or sell this rifle for anything.

    I love it.

.22 costumes in general...what's the point? The cool factor helps get some kids interested, but in my experience, most of them quickly outgrow the stage and learn to appreciate marksmanship and guns in general for what they can do, not just how they look. Even my 11 year old brother has commented several times on how gay many of these are.

way to shit on his parade everybody. it looks sweet, theres no way i would ever get a semi auto center fire and with canadian laws i would only be allowed a 5 round clip anyways. if i was to get a fun gun type it would be a .22 like the one shown. for 3 cents a round it basically pays for itself while maintaining a stupid level of fun. why hate on it because it looks tacticool? getting this gun most likely saved him from buying a pimped out ar. this would be the perfect gun for shits and giggles while keeping his wallet unscathed to fund his precision rifles.

    Love the signature.

correct me if I'm wrong shooterman but thats a Sig 552, not a 10/22 in "costume". either way the rifle looks awesome and I'm sure is an absolute blast to shoot. "tactical" 22's are just plain fun. keep up the good work

...tell that to my AR and my wallet....

I do enjoy shooting it and my 452 because of the mileage I get out of them per range day. More trigger time.

No shitting on as far as I take it. I just laughed.

It's nice though that I can get an honestly similar feel to the AR now. Manual of arms, not so much, but just about everything else is there. And yes, this is a Sig 522. Not just another bastardized 10/22.

Besides, it's a 22. Why NOT make it batshit crazy just cause?

    SM017,

Nice! As you say not another bloody 10/22

Just picked up a 522 for the same reason, bit-o-fun + mimgun comps on small ranges.

Gents lets just take stock a moment, 90% of us on here own snipers rifles but will/have never been LEO or military and as a guess 70% have never been anywhere at all threatening.

We shoot them because we can and it's fun.

And use them for there intended purpose, intent and construction every time they are taken out. Not some pimped out lazer sighted, flash lighted, door smasher muzzle flash, fake suppressor with carry handle toy imitation that is best accurate to minute of barn and only used as a hey look how cool this is gun. lol

To each there own i guess. It's your money spend how you want. Doesn't mean i will not laugh at you because of what you choose.

Nice part is it is MOB only about 35% of the time. The other times, it shoots as good as this:

I'm rather content with how my money was spent and the how my money winds up performing downrange. Even if it looks tacticool retarded keyboard ninja fleshlight awesome, it shoots and runs as good as it tries to look. And has been fun trying to figure all of it's nuances out. Which I feel has made me a better shooter.
