I took my DPMS 3G1 5.56 topped off with a vortex 1-4 pst w/capped turrets out for a spin 2 weeks ago. Got the 2" offset vortex 1pc mount off opticsplant for about $85. Mount is just "OK", but it does the job. I absolutely love this rifle. Comes stock for $1080 (well, when I purchased it about 4months ago) 18" stainless steel Teflon coated barrel 1:8twist (great for heavier bullets), JP single stage trigger (trigger is awesome!!!), miculek compensator (killer compensation BUT stupid loud!!), magpul stock, and the $430 scope speaks for itself. This is hands down the lightest rifle in my AR collection. Not too darn bad for 10shots @ 100yards for a $1080 dpms rifle and a 4x scope. So far I'm really happy with it. Only downfall to this stock rifle is the accessories for the VTAC handguard are stupid expensive!! This is my 2nd time @ the range with the rifle so I'm sure this will improve down the road with more reload development and a few more rounds thru the barrel.
