I took this out today, wow I am shocked at this level of accuracy from a 1075$ gun. I went through 40 rounds, stopped to clean and inspect (went home in other words), my father wanted to go and he had surgery two weeks ago so it was a good stopping place.
This is the initial shooting, I was not far off with my "bed of the truck to a light pole" bore scope.
First shot was that one to the right, then I did double the amount of correction (still learning the magnification multipliers with the NF). After that, I just pulled the trigger, tried some stuff at 300 yards (these pictures are 100 yards), I didn't feel like making my dad wait for the drive out to 300 yards and back, so I used old targets. If I missed, it was my fault, not the gun or ammo.
Ammo used was Hornady 140gr A-MAX
Final test shots...
That bottom picture, I have 3 rounds in that tiny stupid hole, I saw that and got excited and did that one a tad higher. Still a damn good group, but I got over excited and screwed my final shot.
I need to get one of my 22s out and practice some at 50 yards to get better trigger time. I also tried drinking a massive amount of coffee this morning, as in a measured amount of 10 Cups. Just to see if it did anything to me, nope. About the only thing it did was make me want to talk more... I couldn't honestly tell a difference in my ability to shoot.
I have to say this rifle is a real shooter, I was somewhat on the fence about getting this, and then I got an email saying ammo was available. I bought the ammo (was going to convert one of my bolts) and then thought, why not try this out, glad I did. If you are on the fence, hope this helps you decide.
Nightforce 5.5-22.5 (MLR 0/stop)
Badger 20 MOA base
BCM Large Charging Handle
Thanks again to Mike and Mason at CS Tactical for all my scope questions and helping on the purchases.
