Dpms lr308 switching to 7mm-08 questions

I am new to the AR style platform and am wanting to change my dpms 308 into a 7mm-08. My main question is what parts will I have to change, besides the barrel?

I was hoping for a 20 inch bull barrel in 7-08, would I have any gas issues going from a standard 16" .308 to a 7-08 bull barrel?

I have found a few sources for barrels but was wondering if any of you knowledgeable fellows knew of any other options, thanks.

Normally I can find all of my answers searching the forums and what not, but there is very little information out there on these kind of swaps.

You may have to change the gas block if the diameter of the barrel at the gas port is larger, and you may have to get a longer gas tube depending on where the gas port is located on the barrel. Other than that, just check headspace on the new barrel and you are good to go.

There's a great thread right here by FMSniper doing a 7mm-08 conversion, and other forum members have done it too.

The barrel is the only thing, with the caveats that lte82 mentioned. It's a cartridge based off the .308, with the only change being the neck diameter, so magazines and the bolt work with it, just like a .243 Winchester or .260 Remington.
