A little over 17 months ago I bought a DPMS Oricle LR-308... disliking the factory stock I swapped it out quick for UBR I had on hand and a brake

    Ugly duck

shot some lack luster groups and struggled to keep it under 2 MOA at 100 yards

After building a few others AR's over the last year I decided to go back to this rifle and see if I could squeeze anymore from her. Added a Troy forearm, Geissele trigger, YHM clamp on gas block replacing the set screw gas block, a different brake and an old A2 stock.

Here are Mondays results at 100y using IMI brass & AR-Comp and 168 A-Max 2nds, this brass has about 1.5 grains less water volume than Lapua brass.

I started at 37.9 and ended with 39.5

The first and last swelled to MOA+ but the other three are between .57-.85 CTC

I'm impressed, I decided to test between 38.2-38.8 in 2/10th of a grain and let the magnetospeed select the load.

Tuesday, after checking velocity I think the load I'll use is 38.6 AR-Comp in IMI brass under a 168 amax at 2.805" good numbers and grouped well. The numbers:
    38.2 2361 5/14
    38.4 2367 9/23
    38.6 2378 5/12
    38.8 2395 7/19

I also shot five IMI 175 Razor core at 300 (3.25") and 500 (5.75) not bad for a 8x optic with a lot of parallax.

Hope to add some groups on steel at distance in the coming days

The point of all of this is Maybe DPMS barrels can shoot ;)

I've got an lr308 with a 24" bull barrel that is a shooter, but also a pig. Love to shoot it. Hate to carry it. Maybe not all of them, but some dims barrels shoot.
