I had the Armalite Super SASS and it was a great gun. bout a 3/4 to 1/2 MOA shooter. I know people with the DPMS as well that have guns that shoot the same. I think the only difference in the DPMS and Armalite is the barrel length really 18vs20

I have the DPMS and get great groups as well as a reliable rifle. It shoots 1/2 inch groups with FGMM and a even 1/4 inch with custom loads. I have heard so much good about both rifles that this thread is going to just go back anf forth making it hard to know which one. I would get whatever I could get my hands on. DPMS and Armalite both have nice rifles. I like the 18 inch barrel on mine becouse I use a break so it is 20 inch overall without ending at 22 with my break if I would have went with armalite. I have a Armalite Super SASS and it is a great gun. However, if cost is a factor then just build the DPMS yourself and put a great barrel on it. You won't be dissapointed either way imho. The Armalite has a built in switch for a suppressor. I don't have one yet, so can't say if it makes that much of a difference.

check for accessories - how much are magazines...the guns are not that much different when you come down to it. There seems to be more magazine built for the DPMS then Armalite. Also, Magpul just made their magazines for the 308 and they fit DPMS for around 18-20 dollars. IMHO.
