I tried the search function to no avail. Simply put is the DPMS SASS worth the 1800 bucks? What kind of accuracy can I expect from a good handload? Would I be better off with a build for a few bucks more? Thanks

Are you talking about the Mini? I should be receiving my .308 SASS within the next couple days. I paid about $2100 for mine so I obviously think it's worth it. I've seen many .5 MOA reports with this rifle and the DPMS LR-308 platform in general.

Google the SASS along w/ Gunblast.com and you will find a good review on the system along w/ a range report. I believe the author stated that w/ match ammo, the DPMS SASS was the most accurate semi auto .308 platform he had ever handled. Hope this helps.

Both the Mini-SASS and the 7.62 SASS rifles are very good factory rifles for the money. However, for a little more cash, you can get into the custom build world and have the rifle spec'd/built to your needs/wants.
As to the accuracy...I think that 1/2MOA claims are pretty frequent, but I have not seen anything to confirm that to be the level of accuracy you should automatically expect on a consistent basis from one. I think that MOA or better is the norm and some folks are getting better results through proper load development for their rifles, etc. The rifles are quite capable in the hands of a capable driver with proper ammo, optics, etc., etc.

NOT a Mini it's 7.62mm. It's the cheapest I can find it. And it's a local dealer to boot. Thanks guys.

I would do a custom but, I don't feel like waiting! Everyone is backed up with the season coming up.

I don't think you could get a better gun for the money. Buy it shoot it until you can outshoot the rifle and at that point simply upgrade the barrel if you want. Some of the DPMS barrels are great. I shoot 1/2 MOA everytime at the range with mine with the factory 18" barrel.

Expect MOA or better. Here's 10 shots rapid fire with mine at 100 yards:
3 fliers were last 3 shots, someone thought it would be cool to start kicking the picnic bench to screw me up.

I have a DPMS SASS and a DPMS Mini-SASS and I love both rifles. Both rifles are 1 MOA or better but it mainly depends on the shooter. I also have a DPMS 308 AP4 so I now that I think of it I have issues.
Anyways, there are great rifles and for the money you can't do any better.

Can't go wrong for the money. I have the .308 and also shoot 1/2 MOA everytime at the rang. I shoot at 200 yards and usually get 1" groups or better. I even get 1/4 MOA out of it. I load my own ammo. Match case prep, 180gr Sierra Match Kings with 44gr of Varget. $1800 is a great deal. $2000 is good and $2200 is average. cheers.

Great rifles I have two one sass and one lr-308 26" and many friends have them as well and all shoot .5 at least. Most are great.
