DPMS with a bad barrel?

hey folks, i recently purchased a NIB DPMS with a 20" bull barrel in 223 with a jp trigger... upon cleaning it i noticed there is a spot in the barrel between the lands that is messed up. (its like a metal hair, but not loose, will not come out, not sticking up but laying flat) I have yet to get back to the town I purchased it in, but intend to have it replaced.

Anyone ever had any experience like this?

thanks for looking guys, but the stick is on its way back to dpms and I have a new rifle to replace it. (thanks scheels fargo)
