Well, my dream rifle is finally complete. I started with the M40A3 and M40A5 and added/ subtracted to what I wanted. So, for the specs:

Remington 700P Trued Short Action in .308WIN (Not Clip-Slotted)
Rock Creek 24" 11.27twist M24/M40 contour barrel (When gauged, it did not even have a 0.001" difference down the entire length of the barrel, so thanks to Bugholes here on the hide for supplying it, and thanks to Rock Creek for making it)
Surefire Muzzle Brake
McMillan A4 USMC Spec Stock
Remington 40-X Trigger tuned to no creep and breaking at 2.5lbs
Badger Ordnance Recoil Lug
Badger Ordnance Bolt Knob
Badger Ordnance M5 DBM
Badger Ordnance 30MOA Rail
Badger Ordnance 34mm Rings
Harris Swivel 6-9" with KMW Pod-Lock Non-Notched
Schmidt & Bender 5-25x56mm CCW MTC MRAD Turrets H2CMR Reticle

All work was done by my gunsmith here in Alabama and it shoots phenomenally!

I figured you guys always enjoy some gun porn, so here you go!

I would like to thank bugholes, KYS338, Triad Tactical, CSTactical, and Alex at Euro Optics for making this happen.

Thanks,
Troy

Papagallos,

This is the best I can get while looking through the scope towards a solid color wall, so you can see the reticle. For those of you who think the H2CMR is "cluttered"...it definitely is not. I absolutely love this scope/reticle.

Thanks for all the kind words,
Troy

Re: Dream Rifle Complete

I can attest to how well the rifle shoots, just look at my sig. Unfortunately remau has yet to find paper at 100yards. But congrats on getting it finished. I'll still beat you with my .22lr, haha.

Thanks for posting this. I actually came upon a thread where Rob has multiple pictures comparing the the H2CMR to the P4F. Thanks. Go shoot it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Dream Rifle Complete

If I remember correctly, the bottom left corner was a cold-bore 5 -round string shot by remau, then he moved to the upper left corner. Then, I put a 5-round string to the bottom right. remau and I put 3 5-round strings into the center as well. We probably could've done much better but considering the range that we were at and all of the non-sense going on around us, I'd say we shot pretty damn good that day. And this was all with the rifle above @ 100 yards. By the way, that was the first rifle that I had shot that was larger than a 5.56 in nearly 8 years.

PS I don't remember where the flyers came from. Most likely they were mine, as a matter of fact, I'm positive that they were.

PSS Sorry for the small picture, just click and it enlarges.

Re: Dream Rifle Complete

It shoots like a dream, with the average being about 1/2MOA with the groups, and the 30MOA base is because I started with a Leupold Mark 4, and my friend has some property in Georgia to shoot out to a mile, so I needed the 30MOA to feel comfortable about it. I don't really need it with the S&B, but I have no reason to change it out.

Re: Dream Rifle Complete

So sweet, that's what I want to build next but in 6.5 Creedmoor or .308 but set up to run Palma style bullets, try to get the 155's to 3000fps. Maybe Melonite the barrel to push me over the 3000fps mark. Anyway, awesome rifle I'm glad you finally got it. Ive always had a sweet spot in my heart for the M40A3/5.
