Cleaned out grandfathers closet and found a drum mag and spare ammo. If i remember correctly he had a 30cal, but not sure what cal the drum is? looks like an AK drum..question is..do they make drums for a 30cal? and how would i know since no markings on the drum. Thanks

Re: Drum question

The most important pics will be of the portion of the drum that feeds into the magwell of the rifle (the feed tower). Some of the Chicom drums are nearly identical between AR, AK, etc. but for the feed towers. Also, dimensionally, they are hard to tell apart from 7.62x39, 5.56x45, etc. Again, like bohem said, pics are a good idea.

Re: Drum question

Thanks i will try to post some pix / measurements later. the outside has some surface rust, but when i opened it..it looked in pretty good shape. all clean and the twist handle works. ive googled the hell out of it and cant find any for sale. What would something like this be worth? i dont need it and ther is roughly 150rds of ammo also. Thanks again

Re: Drum question

For something that's collectible and in good shape you could be looking at $1-$2/round of capacity. For something less valued, like a 9x18 Suomi 72rd magazine figure you'll get $0.35/round of capcity or maybe a little more.

To the right person it may be worth quite a bit, finding that right person is always the trick.
