PRS Talk dry fireing method

I have read a lot about guys saying to spend a lot of time dry fireing for training. Do you guys make dummy rounds for this or do you just do it on a empty chamber? If you make dummy rounds what do you put in the primer Pocket for cusion?

95% empty chamber, occasionally I’ll use some dummy rounds with empty primer pockets if I also want to proof a magazine.

No cushion is needed. Just use a piece of brass with a fired primer in it. Sometimes, not always, trigger pulls can feel different with an empty chamber so a piece of brass in there makes it feel a little more like a live round.

For sure! But I don’t bother taking it to the range for live fire if it isn’t consistent with the dummies.
