Just seen a trailer for Dunkirk. Looks like it may very well be worth the watch. Looking forward to it.
AIAW aka DigitalCrisis may like it too. ;)

2A, that was my exact reaction, too. Unfortunately, they won't be able to help themselves. They will somehow find a way to bring in the blind, crippled, African, tranny, Islamic, Conscientious objector, midget angle... and screw it all up.

Dunkirk is one of the greatest war miracles of all time. A documentary in Black and White could be (and is) riveting. Hollywood will just mess it up.

BTW, I was supposed to go there on my bike trip last fall, but instead went to Combles and the WW1 battlefields. But planning on going in 2018. There is supposed to be an amazing new museum there.

    Cheers,

    Sirhr

It's Nolan. It'll definitely be a good movie and he's always been very detail oriented. I can't think of a better director for a new WW2 movie since I'm such a big fan of his work. Hopefully he feels the urge to make more WW2 movies since that's my favorite war movie era.

I'm really looking forward to this movie! I am a huge WWII buff.

As an aside, God bless the mariners who pulled that amazing action off!

I'm sure they're all gone by now, but not forgotten while I'm still drawing a breath. They live in my memory, despite their having done this before I was born.
