Gunsmithing duracoat paint info ?

Re: duracoat paint info ?

I've looked everywhere online for the MSDS on Duracoat but can't find anything. It does not come with the product.

What's interesting is that almost all of the other common spray-on finishes (KG, Norrel's, Cerakote, etc.) either include a MSDS with shipment or it is available online.

What's also interesting is that the instructions which come with Duracoat include absolutely no saftey information or even the recommendation of proper ventilation, much less a respirator.

Internet rumor has it that Duracoat is repackaged Polane from Sherwin Williams. I haven't been able to confirm this but if it is true, it contains some fairly nasty stuff.

I understand the need for a MSDS on damn near everything in a business/commercial setting. If it's in a private setting, treat it the same as you would any other unknown chemical or at least give it the respect of MEK and employ proper PPE.

Edit: Just noticed in your sig line that you're a certified Duracoat finisher. Was safety not discussed in certification? MSDS not given out during the clinic? I'd call Lauer or whoever you're getting your stuff from and figure out what's up with that. Doesn't sound right to me.
