a little while back, i emailed Eagle arms as they were supposed to be coming out with a 5MM bolt action rifle.
unfortunately, they are not, i received this today:

Good Morning,
After three years and investing all that we could, I have to admit that I have not been able to form a company large enough and with enough resources to build the 5MM rimfire rifle. We will not be building a 5MM Rimfire bolt action rifle at this time.
It looks like Winchester and supporting companies may have a new lease on high pressure rimfire cartridges, and if they haven't, then maybe Eric's team has.
This past year has been a roller coaster for us. Last summer I was asked to review some documentation for a law suit that focused around a very early 592. As I reviewed and performed the field tests for this documentation, I tried to use this knowledge to redesign the EVA rifle to be better and safer, but have decided that my solid bolt design needs further work and perhaps different manufacturing processes than what I can supply.
I now know why other firearm manufacturers were reluctant to build rifles for the 5MM and why Remington decided not to continue with them. I do believe that the Remington rifles are safe if they are complete and well maintained.
I must say that the 5MM Craig Centerfire cartridge is a much safer way to shoot the 5MM and perhaps we would have been better off to invest in the ammunition side of things instead of the rifle. We did have some commercial movement on that side that I had hoped would have solved the ammo problem for the Craig shooters but those efforts seem to have faded, so we are back to square 2 on that effort.
We will continue to support the 5MM Craig, the magazines, which got delayed for previously stated reasons, 5MM barrels for Contender and Encore frames, and perhaps at some later time another rifle.
I am still working on new 5MM Craig drawn cases and had made some important engineering contacts in that mode this past fall. As soon as we can, we will begin working with them to get drawn cartridges made.
I dearly love the 5MM cartridge and have spent the last 20 years supporting it. We will no longer do any gunsmithing on the 591 and 592 rifles once I finish the ones I have here.
I will not be going to the SHOT Show this year so that I can finish the backlog that we have and get the magazines in production. We are very close, just getting the followers to feed correctly.
I would like to thank everyone here for their support and encouragement. We will still be here and still supporting the 5MM the best way we can.

although it stinks they are not doing it, it is rather nice IMO that they responded to all those that inquired, especially after all this time.
