It's finally done. I put the 30-round magazine on it to show how redonkulous it looks. 20-rounders for the win. The bipod has a tilt and traverse (horizontal target tracking) feature and is on a QD mount. I usually don't rock it with the bipod. It has a Vortex 2-7x on it. It's pretty quick on multiple target engagements. The trigger work helped a lot.

It's amazing how 30-rounds of .308 in a magazine makes a rifle noticeably heavy.

how do you like the picitanny mount? is it a dsa mount? i ran into problems with the mount screws. i was letting multiple rounds loose downrange and my front screw broke and the clip on the inside jammed up the bolt. be carefull on how tight they are and make sure there locktite on them. very nice f.a.l. got to love the right arm of the free world!

Looks sick. How are the groupings with it? Shoot any 30 round groups yet?

It's a DSA mount. It originally had the standard screwdriver slot heads. I ordered the hex screws from DSA at $2.00 each before shipping. Every screw of any accessory on a FAL has to be Locktited. The only one that isn't right now is the detachable carrying handle. (which is pretty slick BTW)

After I reset the picatinny scope mount with the new hex screws, I zeroed the scope on the rifle and hit the mount with a metal hammer numerous times. No change of zero.

I'm getting between 1 moa to 1.5 moa from decent store-bought ammo. My buddies and I got liquored up and loaded all of my magazines up and ran them non stop. We poured beer on the exposed barrel and it cooked it off.

Nothing like the impartial 9-hour 10,000 round torture test Guns Magazine ran:

I challenge and M14/M1A EBR or AR10 to duplicate this torture test.

It is Shay. You can't shoot a full magazine and not smile.

I don't install recoil buffers anymore. I had one jam on a different L1A1. I just adjust the gas system to not harm anything.
