Re: East TN, ORSA late May and June Matches

OK anyone in East TN, there is a Full Bore match a week from Sunday.

In case you don't know that one it's 15 shots for record from 300, 600, 800, 900, and 1000.

"The NRA Full-Bore system will be used for all matches. Unlimited sighters and 15 shots for record in a 22 minute block time, 223 or 308 calibers for competition, all other calibers will not be eligible for prizes or awards."

Re: East TN, ORSA late May and June Matches

According to the schedule anyone can shoot. Prizes and awarding of winners is reserved for 308 and 5.56. Send Larry an e-mail (the contact in the schedule) but I don't see him turning anyone away as long as we have room on the line.

OK boys and girls, this weekend, six matches. Saturday is a 3X 1000 yds and Sunday is 800/900/1000.

F class is welcome to shoot.

I NEED SOME F-TR SHOOTERS! On the 29th I was the only T-TR on the line so I got lumped in with the F-opens. Come on folks. Great place to shoot.

Links are in the first post ^^^^ up there ^^^

Re: East TN, ORSA late May and June Matches

Come on people, I really need some F-TR guys to show up. Seems everyone here is either a slinger or an F-O.

This weekend we shot 3x 1000 Saturday and a Palma 800/900/1000 today (Sunday) For the slingers it's US Palma, no bullet weight restrictions. The Sat matches were unlimited sighters and 20 shots for record, the Sunday matches were unlimited at 800 and 2 sighters at 900/1000 with 15 shots for record..

Shot personal high of 186 in the first of the Sat matches. It's not ever going to win, but I'm improving over my previous matches. My 3rd match was actually better than anything I've shot previously.

I shot a 144 at 900 today including a long string of 10s and Xs at the end. I was very happy with that match.

Twitchy winds at 800 and 1000 kicked my butt. I wasn't alone there were a lot of groans from the line today. One scorer was watching in a spotter and she said it was pretty crazy, the whole line was out right and the flags said nothing. She said she could see it in the mirage from the chair, but from the ground nobody was picking it up. I know I was actually looking at the mirage in my spotter and not seeing it. (She is a slinger, I watched clean the 900 yd line including an X on wind shift that ate up every other shooter on the line).

If you've ever shot at ORSA reading wind here is tuff, the terrain the the woods on both sides of the range make the flags of marginal use. People say that they lie, I don't think they can lie, but they can be very deceiving.
