I have a 10/22 and have ordered a EGW 20 moa base and a Vortex Diamondback 4-16x44 and would like to go ahead and order the rings for it. The objective is 2.01". I'm running a Kidd UL barrel; I think it measures .920". I'm planning to purchase Vortex Pro rings and thinking that the low rings will work. I do want to keep the optic as low as possible but still allow covers.

Any help appreciated.

I have a ruger receiver, .920” barrel, hogue stock, egw 20 moa rail, vortex pro low rings and an athlon helos (50mm) with their caps.
I have about .200” clearance at the front of the bell. For me it’s still sitting too high with the drop at the comb, but in a stock/chassis with less drop it would be fine.

Thanks. That tells me I'll have plenty of room. I've began to look at numbers and I see that the Vortex Pro low rings don't have the lowest height. I think I'll wait and get the scope and mount and then decide on rings to prevent returning. The Vortex hunter series and Tactical series rings are both a little lower. The Pros are made in USA though. 🇺🇸

I had a EGW 20 MOA rail on my 10/22 with a .870” bull barrel. My Viper PST Gen II (50mm objective) in Vortex low pro rings fit with plenty of clearance for scope caps. The Vortex website lists the height as .9”.

Thanks for listing that spec. After some research, the Vortex Hunter Series and Vortex Tactical series are .750" so I'll probably go that route.

Happen to have the rifle and the calipers in the same room, so with EGW 20 MOA, Vortex Pro Low (.90) rings, and a scope which measures 2.36" around the forward scope cap (copies of Butler Creek) I'm left with 0.21" of clearance 4.5" in front of the EGW rail. So you should be fine to drop down to the .750" height especially with the smaller objective bell.

Thank you sir.

I forgot to come back and show the finished product. EGW 20moa base and Warne 30mm 513M Low rings. I just ordered a Vortex defender front flip cap.

Got her dialed in at 85 yds with CCI SV. :)
