Just bought 300 pieces of 147 gr ELD-M bullets as i was running low on my current box. The base to ogive measurement was 0.0250" greater on average when compared to my old box. They are different lot numbers, so i am assuming its just manufacturer tolerances. But is there anything i should do differently when i start loading with the new bullets?

The overall length of the bullets were consistent at about 1.44".

Have seen differences in base to ogive measurement for the 147 ELD-M in the same batch of 7 thou or less. But maybe i was just lucky.

Is there a spec: How much is too much? When do you either give up and pay more for a better bullet with more consistent dimensions (or take the plunge and sort them, and go crazy doing that)?

Either measure them, forget about it and shoot or buy Bergers, or maybe Atips... I've had some excellent results with ELD 140's and 147's but do find them a bit inconsistent (especially lot to lot) with occasional weird flyers. This does not happen often with Bergers or Atips. I've gradually migrated to the Bergers because I like not feeling the need to sort bullets while saving $ over Atips. JMHO...
