electronic headspace gauge

Re: electronic headspace gauge

For occasional use it will probably be wonderful. But the part that actually makes contact with the cartridge case is off center on the long axis of the indicator. I think sooner or later that will either be a problem or cause a problem.

Re: electronic headspace gauge

I have this model. I found if you forget to shut it off it will wear out the battery and it will start to blink. as mentioned above it does go off cent if the case is not flat on the base. I made an adapter I made on the lathe. The base is a little small for me so made a larger base if may work for most people but I wanted something with rubber pads on it. All in all . Works great to check and set a die. I would get the RCBS mic for less. Just my thoughts.

The stem travel on our digital indicator is only one inch long, so it's rock solid. The adjustable v-block is designed "off center" to allow easy access for tall cases. The accuracy is accurate to the nearest .0003" (that's three ten thousandths of an inch).

The base on our Digital Headspace Gauge is a solid 6061 aluminum block. Its weight is enough to make it more stable than a much larger (and cheaper) extruded base. This way it takes up less room on your bench. Unlike the RCBS Precision Mic, our Digital Headspace Gauge works on ALL calibers, so that makes our gauge much cheaper.
