I have been working on trajectory charts for my squirrel rifle and thought it would be a waste to not share it with anyone interested.
This is not scientific, just what I do with my hunting rifle. Feel free to add to in or make any comments you think might help. If someone wants to post pics for me, I can email them.
This is a work in progress and will be added to as I get data.
Rifle
Winchester 52 C standard weight target. ( this is the lightest one other the the Sporter.)
Scope 6X Unertl mounted in standard Unertl target bases and mounts. What I would call a medium crosshair reticule.
Ammo, Eley 10 X various lots. All shoot Sub MOA at 100 yards for 5 shot groups.
Kestrel 4500 was used for density altitude and wind readings. Leica LRF 1600 was used to determine range.
Shooting was all prone with tight sling.
Both Rifle and Scope were about unused when I aquired them. Both are un altered other than adusting trigger to my satisfaction.
My goal was/is to get a chart for holds and settings in 10 yard intervals. Weather adjusted, with some wind data.
A fifty yard zero was established in a no wind condition. All shooting was at dots on paper. .25" dots to 75 yards then .5" dots.
Density altitude was at 500 ft for this data.
10 yards -.7"
20 yards +.2"
30 yards +.25"
40 yards +.3"
50 yards 0
60 yards +7 clicks -.7" 1.75 MOA
70 yards +14 clicks -2.3" 3.5 MOA
75 yards +15 clicks 3.75 MOA
80 yards +20 clicks -3.4" 5 MOA
90 yards +25clicks 6.2 MOA
100 yards +30 clicks 7.5 MOA Groups average .75 MOA
110 yards +40 clicks 10 MOA
120 yards +46 clicks 11.5 MOA
130 yards
140 yards
150 yards +67 clicks 16.75 MOA
160 yards
170 yards
180 yards
190 yards
200 yards + 111 clicks 27.75 MOA Groups ave 3.25"
More data to follow. I will try to post inches and clicks. Clicks are supposed to be 1/4 moa but I have not verified that yet. Beyond 100 yards, some correction for spin drift is required, I will post it when I determine it with no wind. Right now I am getting .75 moa at 200 and and .25 MOA at 100 for the correction.
